Monitor member loans daily and verify accurate fines.
Repair and correct dysfunctional loans.
Split monthly contributions to separate risk fund allocations.
Reallocate repayments from contributions to loans for non-app users.
Share timely updates with pioneer members via WhatsApp.
Create daily social media posts to engage online audience.
Maintain ongoing communication with members.
Update and manage website content for accuracy.
Send loan repayment reminders to borrowers.
Liaise with guarantors to support borrower accountability.
Prepare monthly financial reports and presentations.
Organize and call for monthly SACCO meetings.
1. Educational Qualifications
Minimum: Diploma in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Cooperative Management, or a related field.
Desirable: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or Cooperative Management for candidates aiming to grow the SACCO’s operations.
2. Professional Experience
Minimum: 1–2 years of experience in financial management, cooperative administration, or a related role (e.g., banking, microfinance, or SACCO operations).
Desirable: Experience in a SACCO or microfinance institution, particularly with loan portfolio management or member engagement, to hit the ground running on tasks like guarantor liaison and contribution splits.
3. Technical Skills
Essential:
Proficiency in Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Forms) for website updates, financial reporting, and member communication.
Social media management skills (e.g., creating engaging posts for platforms like X, WhatsApp, or Instagram) to meet the daily posting requirement.
Basic accounting skills for monitoring loans, verifying fines, and reallocating repayments.
Familiarity with WhatsApp for timely member updates, as it’s a key communication tool in Kenya
4. Soft Skills
Essential:
Strong communication skills (written and verbal) in English and Swahili to engage members, liaise with guarantors, and send reminders.
Organizational skills to manage monthly meetings and financial reports.
Community-oriented mindset to align with SOYOSOYO SACCO’s mission of financial empowerment in Kilifi
Desirable: Problem-solving skills for repairing dysfunctional loans and customer service experience to maintain ongoing member communication.
5. Local Context
Preferred: Residency in or familiarity with Kilifi County to understand local financial needs and cultural dynamics
6. Legal/Regulatory Requirements
Mandatory: Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Kenya, as SACCOs handle sensitive financial data and require trustworthy staff, per the Cooperative Societies Act.
Desirable: Membership in a professional body like the Kenya Institute of Management (KIM) or certification from any University of Kenya for credibility.
